BACKFLOW VERIFICATION
Annual backflow-preventer verification
Coordinated annual testing, a clear record, and a known next due date.
WHY IT MATTERS
Protect the network. Document the verification.
A backflow preventer helps stop contaminated water from returning to the potable water network. In Quebec, certain devices must be tested at installation, after certain work or relocation, and then annually.
The owner must retain proof of testing. Norméo organizes the request and record; regulated testing is assigned to a backflow tester whose status is active in the provincial registry.
References checked August 19, 2026: RBQ, CMMTQ and Réseau Environnement’s VDAr registry. Exact application depends on the building and device.

On-site testing and accurate recording of the result.
- 04

Protected report, device history and next due date, with no separate software subscription.
WHO THE SERVICE IS FOR
Scope confirmed for the building and installation.
Requirements notably cover institutional, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as certain residential buildings. Specific equipment can also create a cross-connection risk.
You do not have to determine alone whether every device is in scope. Send the address and what you know; scope will be checked before scheduling.
IF A DEVICE FAILS
A clear result. A separate next action.
A failed result is not presented as compliant. The deficiency is documented. If plumbing work is required, it must be assigned separately to an authorized contractor; retesting follows correction.
